ABOUT THE SOFTWARE
The Liver Surface Nodularity (LSN) software was written in C++ as a PC-based platform designed for use by radiologists. The LSN software was converted into a plugin for Osirix MD, an FDA-cleared image viewer, providing a mechanism for us to seek FDA 510(k) clearance in the U.S. and CE clearance in Europe.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
A routine liver CT is obtained with any CT scanner, and a radiologist uses the Liver Surface Nodularity (LSN) software to obtain the Liver Score in 2 min. The LSN score is associated with the stage of chronic liver disease and cirrhosis.
The technology has been distributed to 10 luminary sites, including academic medical centers pursuing research on the LSN score. The LSN methods are patent pending in the U.S. and European Union and has accepted claims in Japan.
VALIDATION - EFFICIENCY - ACCURACY
The software has been validated in multiple clinical studies (below), is highly accurate and reproducible, is technically easy to perform (2 minutes per patient), works with CT images from any CT scanner, and has a 0% technical failure rate.
